A 4-Day Ritual to End Drought Will Be Held in Kalmykia
From July 27 to 30, the monastic community of the Central Khurul “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni” will hold a 4-day ritual to end drought and other natural disasters. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kalmykia and the believers of the republic asked the monastic community to perform the rituals. Thus, on the 27th at 07:00 the Tentu Yultu ritual will be held. On July 28 at 09:00 the monks will perform the Jolchog ritual (Mandal Shiva) — the ritual of the fourfold mandala offering to Arya Tara. On July 29 the Tentu Yultu and Sangsol rituals will be performed, and on July 30 the Tentu Yultu ritual will also take place. Of the listed rituals, the main one is the Tentu Yultu — the rain-calling ritual. The monks will perform this ritual relying on the deity Vajravidarana (Dorje Namjom). As his mantra says, “strength and power are gathered in one manifest body of vajra wrath,” it destroys evil spirits, saves, accomplishes all “that has not been accomplished, does not let all attainments be squandered, fully grants all that is desired,” and protects all living beings. This rite is performed not only to overcome drought, but also to purify the locale. The Vajravidarana ritual removes the consequences of negative karma accumulated in this territory, pacifies and cleanses everything around. This ritual also removes all kinds of negative influences. As a result of performing the ritual, illnesses are healed, the influences of evil spirits and the suffering of living beings are removed. Lifespan is extended. The monastic community of Kalmykia calls on all residents of the republic during these days, at home, to recite the mantra of Vajravidarana: NAMA CHANDA VAJRA KRODHAYA HULU HULU TISHTA TISHTA BHANDA BHANDA HANA HANA AMRITE HUM PHAT. It is believed that a positive result will depend on collective karma. Therefore, the more people take part in reciting the mantra, the greater the effect of the rituals will be. The rituals will be broadcast on the official YouTube channel of the Central Khurul “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni.”
