Creation of the Sand Mandala of Buddha Amitayus Completed

The monks’ painstaking work at the Central Khurul has come to an end — the sand mandala has been completed. A special ceremony was held to mark the occasion: the sacred mandala was consecrated, as if inviting Buddha Amitayus — the patron of longevity — into the palace built in his honour.

The mandala is now open to everyone: over the next two weeks, visitors and residents of the republic can come to Kalmykia’s main Buddhist temple and admire this remarkable creation. The monks emphasise that even simply walking around the mandala with kind thoughts is considered an act of great merit. Showing respect for the sacred mandala is like meeting the Deity: in this way, everyone can receive the blessing of Buddha Amitayus.

It is important to remember: the mandala will be dismantled on 15 ноября. This ritual is a reminder that all material things are impermanent.
