A Conversation on Important Matters in the Office of the Head of the Republic, Batu Khasikov
The official visit of the Kamby Lama of the Republic of Tuva to Kalmykia continues. Today the delegation visited Lagansky District.
The previous day, a meeting was held with the Head of the Republic, Batu Khasikov. The Shajin Lama of the Kalmyk people, Geshe Tenzin Choidak, also took part in the discussion.
The conversation lasted two hours and was truly warm and profound.
The participants discussed preserving Buddhist heritage, developing education and joint projects, paying particular attention to working with young people. Batu Khasikov emphasized: “Our peoples share common roots, common values and a common desire to preserve what our ancestors passed down: the Teaching of the Buddha, traditions and culture.”
Shajin Lama Geshe Tenzin Choidak added that new joint projects lie ahead — not only with Tuva, but also with Buryatia: “We are building a living connection between the Buddhist republics — this is important for transmitting the Teaching and strengthening our shared spiritual space.”
At the close of the meeting, Kamby Lama Loden Sherab wholeheartedly thanked the Head of the Republic for supporting the spiritual community and caring for the Buddhist tradition.
Such meetings truly mean a great deal: the agreements reached will help further strengthen ties between the regions, preserve their heritage and launch new worthwhile projects.
