Preparing for Tantric Rituals: Attention to Every Detail

Preparations for the annual tantric rituals are nearing completion at the Central Khurul. The temple is filled with focused, serene activity: each monk is busy with his own task, and together they are preparing the space for the sacred rites.

An important part of the preparations is making torma — ritual offerings to deities and Dharma Protectors. Torma are shaped from tsampa (roasted barley flour) and clarified butter, with their shapes, proportions, and the techniques used strictly adhering to canonical prescriptions. For the monks, this process — far from being merely a craft — is meditation in action: it requires complete concentration, purity of intention, and inner calm.

The annual tantric rituals will begin at the Central Khurul tomorrow morning. They will begin with “Torgyak”, a ritual for removing obstacles. Start time: 9:00ч.
