Buddhist teacher Geshe Tenzin Zopa answers questions about the monastic tradition for the special project "Sangha of Russia" https://sanghainfo.ru/ The interview took place at the Central Khurul of Kalmykia "The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni" in October 2019, during the great collective retreat on reciting 100 million Avalokiteshvara mantras under the guidance of Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Geshe Tenzin Zopa took the vows of a novice monk at the age of nine from Lama Konchog, and later the full vows of a gelong monk from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He received extensive knowledge of Buddhist philosophy from Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Lama Konchog and the teachers of Sera Je Monastery, where he earned his doctorate in Buddhist philosophy in 2007. Geshe-la has rich teaching experience: for a long time he was the resident teacher of the FPMT center in Malaysia. He currently lives and teaches the Dharma in Australia.
