The Kangso ritual helps people rid themselves of suffering, illness and the causes of suffering, and attain health, joy, well-being, peace of mind, harmony in the family, and order in life. During such rites a special connection is created with the deities who protect and guard a person. The activity of the protectors includes safeguarding the Dharma, sustaining and prolonging the lives of great masters and holders of the Dharma, assisting in the spread of the Buddha’s Dharma in the ten directions, removing obstacles that hinder the development of the Dharma, as well as bestowing happiness and well-being upon humanity, pacifying wars and conflicts on the continent, and delivering from famine and natural disasters.

The Dharma protectors guard, and bestow well-being and happiness upon all. With their help vital energy increases, and fortune changes for the better.

During each ritual a special ceremony of offerings is performed for the protectors, who are called upon to shield people from demons, spirits, afflictions, all manner of illnesses and problems. The monks address prayers to the protector deities — Mahakala, Dharmaraja, Palden Lhamo (Okon-Tengri), and Vaishravana — and ask them to grant protection and patronage, presenting serjim with a plea for a happy life for all living beings.

On Sunday, February 23, from 9:00 to 11:00, the ritual “Bilgin zürknä üüdnäs shulms härülh yosn” Sherning Dudok will take place — the averting of obstacles through the “Heart Sutra of Prajnaparamita”.
