On August 23, a Prayer Service for Schoolchildren and Students Will Be Held at the Central Khurul of Kalmykia “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni”

On the eve of the new school year, the Central Khurul of Kalmykia “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni” will hold a traditional prayer service relying on the Buddha of Wisdom, Manjushri. In the main prayer hall of the Central Khurul of Kalmykia, the monks, led by the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Telo Tulku Rinpoche, will perform rituals aimed at removing mental obscurations and obstacles to learning. It is believed that intensive study is very beneficial for the young; it is no accident that on thangkas the Buddha Manjushri is depicted as a youth of 16. In his right hand he holds the flaming sword of wisdom, a symbol of cutting through ignorance, and in his left hand he holds the stem of a blooming lotus, whose petals support the text of the “Prajnaparamita Sutra,” symbolizing the teaching of perfect wisdom. People turn to the Buddha of Wisdom Manjushri for help in quickly assimilating knowledge, developing memory, wit, and the ability to express one’s thoughts eloquently. Reciting the mantra of the Buddha of Wisdom Manjushri creates virtuous karmic imprints, thanks to which one can again attain a human birth and encounter the teaching of the Buddha. The mantra of the Buddha of Wisdom Manjushri: OM ARA PATSA NA DI. Since the Central Khurul is closed to visitors, the prayer service will be held online. The prayer service will be broadcast on the official YouTube channel “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni” and on the official Instagram page “khurul_official.” The prayer service begins at 09:00.
