Congratulations from the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Telo Tulku Rinpoche on the 105th Anniversary of the Saint Petersburg Gunzechoinei Datsan

Dear Lamas and believers of the Gunzechoinei Datsan! On behalf of the monastic community of the republic, the monks of the Central Khurul of Kalmykia “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni”, and personally, I heartily congratulate you on a momentous event — the 105th anniversary of the opening of the Gunzechoinei Datsan. The Buddhist temple, built with the funds of Buryat and Kalmyk believers, as well as with the personal savings of His Holiness the 13th Dalai Lama, to this day, as it did a hundred and five years ago, stands as a symbol of the Teaching of Buddha Shakyamuni in the northwest of Russia. I am sincerely glad that during all this time the Datsan has been not only an architectural monument, but also that sacred place where people can touch the Teaching of the Tathagata and gain much merit. I express my heartfelt gratitude for your persistent labor in spreading the Light of the Buddha’s Teaching on the Neva. I wish you good health, happiness, and well-being, and success in your virtuous deeds!
