Concluding Rituals for Extending Years

Dear faithful! This coming weekend, on December 5 and 6, the Central Khurul of Kalmykia will host the concluding rituals for extending years. Due to the unfavorable COVID-19 situation, the rituals will be held online. According to tradition, before the beginning of the “Zul” celebration, the monks perform the “Nasan utdulhn” rituals (extending years). Each year at the Central Khurul the life-extending rituals are performed through the three deities of longevity: Amitayus, Ushnishavijaya, and White Tara. December 5, Saturday, 9:00–11:00 — Ritual of the goddess of long life White Tara, “Dolkar Tsedub.” Tsahan Därkin nasni bütäl. December 6, Sunday, 9:00–11:00 — Ritual of the goddess of long life Ushnishavijaya. Namjl burkhna deed nasni nom. These rituals and prayer services are especially significant for those born in the Year of the Ox (the coming year) and in the Year of the Sheep — opposite to the Year of the Ox.
