Birthday of the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia!
Today marks the 48th birthday of the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, Telo Tulku Rinpoche. A festive prayer service was held at the Central Khurul; by now-established tradition, the October 27 service is held in honor of the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, Telo Tulku Rinpoche, with wishes of health, happiness, and well-being. Today the monks read a text composed by Bogdo Gegen IX Jebtsundamba Khutuktu at the request of Telo Tulku Rinpoche's students. On this day, representatives of Buddhist communities, public figures, heads of Kalmykia's municipalities, and residents of the republic congratulated the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia. Also on this day, representatives of the Buddhist center “Tilopa” and believers held an event dedicated to Telo Tulku Rinpoche's birthday, during which volunteers delivered food packages to the homes of members of the older generation — mostly “veterans” of the Buddhist movement.
